The TV schedule for the 2010 Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships has been announced, with the series continuing to be broadcast around Australia on SBS’ Speedweek and Inside Speed on Fox Sports.

On the majority of Sunday afternoons after each round, Speedweek on the SBS will telecast a highlights package of the racing action from the most recent Shannons Nationals round*.

Following this telecast, Fox Sports’ Inside Speed programme will also show racing highlights on the subsequent Wednesday evening*.

These television packages will be complimented by a live broadcast of every round across the internet via the Shannons Nationals website, www.thenationals.com.au.

Series Director, Rob Curkpatrick said the success of the live broadcasting at the 2009 season finale at Sandown has resulted in this medium being implemented across the 2010 season.

“The live broadcast from the Sandown round proved to us that the internet is the future for sports broadcasting,” he said.

“In 2010 our viewers will be able to see all the races in full, live from their computers, and then tune in hear all the interviews, go behind the scenes and see more detailed coverage on the Speedweek and Inside Speed television packages.”

The season opener of the 2010 Shannons Nationals will be held at Wakefield Park on March 6-7, featuring series regulars including the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship, Commodore Cup and Kerrick Sports Sedans along with additional action-packed categories.
