Mechanics to be rewarded as AmPro Tools becomes ‘Official Tool Supplier’ to Formula 3
17/08/2009 at 4:15:54 AM:

The Formula 3 Australian Drivers’ Championship has today announced a new partnership with AmPro Tools that will see the AmPro brand become the ‘Official Tool supplier of Formula 3’ starting at next weekend’s round in Queensland and continuing for the remainder of 2009.

AmPro tools are this year a major sponsor of leading F3ADC driver Mat Sofi and his #2 AmPro Tools / Errea / Transwest Dallara that won for the first time at Sydney’s Eastern Creek Raceway recently, and this new arrangement will further entrench their position as major supporters of Formula 3 in Australia.

Within the Arrangement, AmPro will sponsor the “AmPro Tools Mechanic of the year” award that will reward hard working F3 team members for their efforts with a series of contingency awards and a major prize to be presented at the end of the 2009 season.

Crew members will be nominated by their team manager / owner with a panel of judges to decide the most worthy winner.

The winning Mechanic or Engineer will receive a brand-new 122-piece Aluminium Case Tool Set valued at $880.00 as a reward for their efforts throughout the year supporting the F3 Australian Driver’s Championship.

AmPro branding will now feature on each car and within the series’ TV package and official website, to further compliment the already outstanding exposure the F3ADC has delivered for the brand via its relationship with Mat Sofi this season.

“The crew members that make up the teams within the F3 Australian Driver’s Championship are the unsung heroes of the championship and support it more than many realise,” Formula 3 Australia board member Richard Craill said.

“Most, if not all, of them have a passion for Formula 3 and put in double the effort and time to ensure that their cars perform well, look sensational and therefore they are big contributors to the growth of F3 in Australia.

“This is our way of thanking them for their commitment to Formula 3, their teams and their drivers throughout the 2009 season. We are very pleased to see AmPro further their investment in the F3ADC brand and we look forward to working with them for the remainder of 2009.

“The AmPro brand is a professional range of quality hand and Air Tools and these values reflect those that work within the F3ADC, so it is a perfect fit. We look forward to presenting the winner of the ‘AmPro Tools Mechanic of the year’ award at the season’s award night after the final round at Sandown this November.”

AmPro Tools National Category Manager, Richard McLean, said he was pleased to extend the relationship with open wheel racing to the entire Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship.

“As we stated at the start of 2009, AmPro Tools is serious about supporting Mat Sofi and Formula 3 and the level of professionalism from the people within the Championship has been amazing all the way from the Series Administrators, drivers down to the unsung heroes, the mechanics, who show the dedication that only family can demand.

“Our clients have also enjoyed each round of the championship this year, from the heat of the Clipsal 500 to the icy cold weather at Phillip Island, plus we have received fantastic TV exposure through SBS Speedweek and Fox Sports’ Inside Speed coverage.

“We would highly recommend the category to any other sponsor looking to stand out from the crowd in these economic times”

“These are all great young drivers looking to make a name for themselves while they hone their race craft, and we are very pleased to see Mat Sofi win his first race at Eastern Creek and be in contention for the Championship.”

The next round of the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship will be held at Queensland Raceway between August 21 – 23, followed immediately by the Gold Star’s farewell to Oran Park the following weekend.

To support their sponsorship of both Mat Sofi and the Formula 3 Australian Drivers’ Championship, AmPro Tools will launch a new racing-specific website at www.amrproracing.com.au shortly.
