F3: Country Club Tasmania to support Australian Formula 3 SuperPrix
27/08/2007 at 2:25:44 PM:

Over $5000 in prizes will be awarded to the top three finishes of the inaugural Tasmanian Formula 3 SuperPrix thanks to a new naming-rights sponsorship arrangement with Country Club Tasmania.

The winner of the Country Club Tasmania Formula 3 SuperPrix will receive a five-night accommodation package for two at the award winning Country Club Tasmania, valued at over $2100.

The prize will include return airfares from Melbourne and be a true reward to recognize the accomplishment of winning the longest and most prestigious race in the Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship season.

The SuperPrix – the second of two races to be held at Symmons Plains on September 2nd – winner will also receive the inaugural John Bowe trophy.

The runner-up and third place finisher will also receive accommodation packages valued at over $1500 (2nd) and $1200 (3rd) respectively.

“It’s fantastic to hear that Country Club Tasmania will be supporting the SuperPrix race in Tasmania,” Said leading driver Charlie Hollings.

Hollings, who hails from Yorkshire in the UK, is one of several drivers originally from foreign shores set to contest the race.

“Since I came to race in Australia this season I have been looking forward to visiting Tasmania, but because we are always busy racing we never get much of a chance to look around and see the sights.

“As if racing for the Championship wasn’t enough, this prize only adds to my motivation to win the Country Club Tasmania Formula 3 SuperPrix so I can come back and spend some time in Tasmania to relax at the country club, instead of at the race track!” he said.

“We are delighted to welcome Country Club Tasmania as a sponsor of the Australian Formula 3 SuperPrix,” Formula 3 Australia chairman James Rosenberg said.

”With the John Bowe trophy and the generous prizes offered by Country Club Tasmania we are confident that the Country Club Tasmania Formula 3 SuperPrix at Symmons Plains Raceway will make strong first steps this season to becoming the biggest Formula 3 race in Australia.” He said.
